The sky rolled and leaped above as I held my face into the rich, airy soil below.  Inhaling the scent of every rain that had passed over the earth for eternity, I did in the silence of the field.  Light streamed down through the rows of tall grass shielding me from the cruelties of the world. Each breath brought me closer to the core of nature. Every little millionth of a second, I heard more. Between the breaths, I took in elements I hadn’t before.  I smelled the air rippling through the gold stalks of ripened wheat, breaking down the fibers of each bit of pollen and whirling them through the sky.  My nails dug into the dirt and pulled up a palm full of black, crumbling earth and pressed it to my face.  Everything called to my heart at once: the wind tossed my hair ‘round, the soil anchored me down, smells delighted my nose, my lips tasted everything in between the sky and ground, the sunlight drifted down on my body and held it like an old friend.  My soul faded into what had always been.  The wheat fell down over me and protected me from the eyes of the strayed, the earth bedded me and the wind caressed my skin once more as I gently sank under forever after the golden light kissed my eyes close everlastingly.
